Two technology enthusiasts, the birth of Scalt

From a meeting in 2017 to a meetup on agentic AI in 2025: how two friends set out to make AI agents simple and useful for everyone.

People often ask us where Scalt comes from. The answer lies in a friendship, a few years of projects carried out together, and an evening of preparation when an idea became obvious. Here is our story, told by the two of us.

2017: a meeting

Our story begins in 2017. Two technology enthusiasts, both of Moroccan origin, meet at Boulanger (Pictime). We hit it off right away. We impress each other with our curiosity, our creativity and our thirst for learning.

A natural understanding sets in, and with it a solid friendship, forged by intense and rewarding work experiences. The kind where you learn as much about technology as about how to work together when the pressure rises.

Ascirem: large accounts in the Lille area

A few years later, our paths cross again under the same banner: Ascirem. Together, we work on large-scale projects for major companies in the Lille area. There we see up close how large organisations adopt, or struggle to adopt, new tools: scattered data, access rights that must be respected, business teams that need results rather than promises. We also learn there that a good tool is not enough: if it does not fit into teams’ habits, it gathers dust.

That period strengthens how we complement each other, and a shared vision: putting technology at the service of people, not the other way round.

February 2025: the turning point

In February 2025, we are preparing a meetup for IFBI (IT Freelance Business Insider) on agentic AI. While discussing the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence, one observation stands out: AI agents can transform work, but they remain reserved for those who know how to build them. The people who would need them most, in business teams, have no access to them.

An idea takes root that evening: simplifying the use of AI and intelligent agents for non-technical people, through a clear, smooth and accessible experience. Scalt was born from that idea.

First Scaltify, then Scalt

We first launched Scaltify, our AI agency, with a twofold mission: training artificial intelligence engineers, and supporting companies in their digital transformation. This first step gave us what no plan can replace: a concrete understanding of real-world needs, project after project.

Building on that experience, we brought Scalt to life, the product that embodies our vision: making AI concrete, useful and intuitive for everyone. Between sleepless nights, gallons of coffee and endless coding sessions, an idea took shape: a platform that starts from the company’s data, links it, then puts to work agents that teams describe, deploy and supervise themselves, with approvals and a trace of everything that is done.

The company SCALT, a French SAS, was incorporated on 19 December 2025 in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Abderrahime is its president, Zakaria its managing director; we are its two co-founders.

Spark Innovation and French Tech Tremplin

This shared vision earned us the honour of joining, in March 2025, the winter 2025 cohort of the Spark Innovation programme. It was a turning point: surrounded by mentors, we learned to turn a project into a company. Since September 2025, we have also been following the French Tech Tremplin preparatory programme, a support programme run by the Mission French Tech.

What we took from it

From years spent deploying tools for others, then supporting companies with Scaltify, we drew three convictions. They still guide every product decision.

  • Everything starts with the data. An agent is never better than what it reads: you have to check what comes in, respect each source’s rights, and link information together.
  • Humans stay in control. An agent prepares, suggests and executes; for what commits the company, a person approves, and everything is traced.
  • Simplicity is a feature. If a business team cannot describe, test and supervise its agent without us, we have not done our job.

Why Lille

Because this is where it all happened. It is in the Lille area that we met, that we worked for its companies, and that we founded the company. The region has a dense digital ecosystem, industrial, service and construction companies with exactly the needs Scalt addresses, and places like EuraTechnologies where these worlds meet. Our office is in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, at the heart of the metropolitan area, and that is where we welcome those who want to see Scalt up close.

What comes next

Our ambition is big: to become a global leader in AI-powered automation, helping everyone make better decisions and improve the future of work. We know how much road is left. Scalt is in private beta today, and we are moving forward with the teams trying it. In practice, that means continuing to build with these teams, publishing what we learn on this blog, and staying demanding about what we claim.

See you on 3 June 2027 at EuraTechnologies, in Lille, for the first edition of Scalt:GO. Until then, our webinars, workshops and breakfasts are on the Events page, and the newsletter tells the behind-the-scenes story of Scalt every month. And if you want to tell us what you expect from Scalt, write to us at hello@scalt.ai.
